B’s Digital & Mobile Marketing Campaign Team
Obama said during his 1st President speech: “To my campaign manager David Plouffe, my chief strategist David Axelrod, and the best campaign team ever assembled in the history of politics” Barack assembled the best team in history of policits. (full text speech here)
Mr Axelrod is a Political Consultant. He started his own cabinet in Chicago Illinois. He succeeded in bringing the first African American as the Mayor of Chicago. As he says, if you are 20 points below in polls then you need my assistance.
He was the key member in Barack’s strategic team.
Credit should be given to this team for Barack’s digital & mobile campaign.
Some of the examples and innovations they brought:
1. Information of VP Joe Biden via SMS
2. Micro Donation
3. Use of Facebook / Youtube (more than 1,165 videos posted and 14.8 million views) / Blogs / Rumours
4. Advertising on online Gaming (Xbox 360 for example) & on Mobile.
4. Campaign of information and disinformation
5. Donate your status on FB on the election day, early day on Nov 4th there were already more than 2Million People!
His digital gurus were:
- Chris Hughes, a Facebook cofounder, is Obama’s “online organizing guru”;
- Arun Chaudhary, who is his video guru.
- Joe Rospars: “New media director”. Veteran of Dean campaign, also worked at DNC.
- Kate Albright-Hanna: Runs Obama’s YouTube channel. Former Emmy winning CNN producer.
- Scott Goodstien: Heads up text-messaging program. Former DC-based PR guy.
- Sam Graham-Felsen: “Blogger-in-chief”; Former Nation writer who reported on Obama before joining campaign.

And what about Eric Schmitt ? Google’s CEO is one of his closest adviser and he must have had his word on the matter during the campaign.
You are definitely right – though Eric official support came late october.
Obama will create a CTO position wihtin its cabinet to think ahead. At the Web 2 conference in US this week – names such as Al Gore, One of the Google Founders, Jerry Yang were circulating!
